[Linked Image]I just found the following 1-hand weapon sold by Zaleskar for ~300 gold.

The base average damage of a level 7 1-hander is 63.
This one has 345 average damage.
That's ~5.5 times as powerful!
The only caveat is that it cannot be repaired.

I've done a lot of play-throughs, and this is the first time I've ever encountered any of these ultra-powerful weapons.

While this was a pretty cool find, I'm not sure if occasionally finding a weapon that completely trivializes every fight until it breaks is a good idea (and at such a reasonable price!).

Has anyone else found any items like this?

What are some thoughts on the current state of Unrepairable equipment?

Two Words: Terrible Idea.

You basically said why yourself. Having a disposable, overpowered item makes no sense. You'd save it for bosses and unequip it before you die. The entire game would revolve around the remaining durability of the item for the player.

I actually like the idea in theory. It's like ethereal weapons from Diablo 2. But this weapon is way over the top, obviously. An unrepairable weapon should be pretty good, but not absurd. Maybe good stats, a +skill, and slightly higher than normal damage. I'm not sure if the weapon would last long enough to be naturally upgraded anyway, though, assuming you don't bash chests with it. It might also need something like half the natural durability to really become a situational weapon.

Maybe if it was like the Glass Swords from Ultima (kills anything in one hit, then immediately breaks), that'd be cool. Of course, they'd have to change the durability to 1. You can get a lot of use out of this. Just put it on a dual-wielding warrior, Rage, Crippling Blow, then change out that weapon. Considering the damage you'd get out of it, it'd be worth the extra AP cost of changing weapons. Wouldn't even need Rage, really, as a non-critical Crippling Blow with that equipped would kill absolutely anything in one hit outside of the final battle.

So, as is, in the words of Fluffington: Terrible idea.

Another thing that makes this worse, the weapon only loses durability for regular attacks. Using Battering Ram and Crippling Blow do not decrease the durability. This thing would last me several levels if I didn't run out of content first.

Since I 1-shot everything I hit and have 2 AoE weapon skills I basically never even lose durability.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. Even as a glass sword it would still be a problem, then.
