A user on Nexus reported that installing a simple char script ('PUZ_AnimalRunAway' in Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Data\Public\Shared\Scripts) or other mods crashed his installation, so he had to repair the game.

He uses the GOG version and Windows 10.

The file structure is the same, isn't it? And possible version differences between Steam and GOG shouldn't have an effect on this char script.

What might be the problem here?

Are there any other GOG and/or Windows 10 users with problems installing mods to subfolders of 'Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Data' or the mod folder in 'Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition'?

The mentioned script can be found here:

Any ideas/information on this?

It works fine with the GOG version in Win 7.

Thanks for your answer, Raze.

The user hasn't answered yet, but I have GOG Galaxy in suspicion. And after a short research it seems Galaxy considers modded game files as corrupted. I guess this isn't the case for mods in the regular documents mod folder, only files that are installed the pre-editor way in the 'Data' folders.

Or did you launch via Galaxy?

I verified files in Galaxy and it downloaded 166MB, though the only files in the install folder marked as created or modified today after that were uninstall files or Galaxy ini files totalling about 7MB. It may have replaced or added other files, but it did not remove the script or added folder structure (or the downloaded zip file still in the Public folder), and launching the game through Galaxy after that, the script continued to work.

Thanks for information, Raze. The user gets error 302 when loading a save (as if important files were missing/changed), despite launching without Galaxy. Did you try it with an existing game?
Seems this remains unsolved. I can't check this myself (or ask hundred questions) and I don't see where this problem might come from; though it doesn't seem to be a principle problem, from what you tell.

Yes, I tried with existing saves, from a couple different playthroughs. Error 302 is a problem during loading with an item template not found.

Weird. I'll leave it at that and post the information on Nexus. Thanks for your efforts.
