While you try to escape you will even discover better reason, why you don't want to stay as their prisoner.

That and you hear rumors that they "cure" others from source. You see some of their leader murdering one of their own as you reach fort joy.

I actually like it's not as hand holding as certain games.
I still remember Baldur's Gate 2, Imoen get kidnapped, there a weird guy saying he can find her for 10 000 gold.

That's it now have fun in the city finding the money!

It also benefits by having the whole... Trial thing be more tragic.

Or it's the kid when you reach the beach, ... or butter after you told her you'd escape and meet her again!

You do get a pretty broad hint to go to the Copper Kettle where people pretty well queue up to give you options. There are also people you can talk to straight away once Imoen is lifted by the fuzz, who will give useful advice.

In OS2 you can easily blunder around for a while before getting to the fort. Oh, and you did notice the Yarrow flower, didn't you. No? Well just go to Migo and he will explain it.

Another issue which will not help those new to the game is the way that foliage is less well cleared when you walk under the trees compared to OS1, in my opinion.

Someone must have spiked her senna pod drink!
