Larian Studios Forums Divinity - Original Sin Divinity - Original Sin - Technical Issues Game freezes with controller

I bought D:OS from GOG.
I am running it on a Mac with the latest version of OSX.
When I use my DualShock 3 controller the game continuously freezes, sort of like stuttering. When I am not using the Dualshock 3, and just running keyboard and mouse I dont notice any stutter or freezing.
Has anybody run into this? I'm wondering if this is specific to the Dualshock 3 or something about controllers in general.
Maybe time to invest in an Xbox controller?
The game is leaps and bounds better with a controller than with the keyboard and mouse so I hope it's a simple fix.
