I agree with you about the last dungeon, I could hardly believe it. Just one of those maze like areas would be cool enough, but having to do 4 or 5 of them, extremely repetitive and tedious. It seems like someone ran out of ideas and did a copy/paste job within the game world editor. The gargoyles were cool though; I especially liked their death animations. Its just that you end up killing a couple hundred of them, or just give up and run past them.
The game isn't very well balanced at all. Its easy to make a character so powerful that combat with anything but a few bosses is trivial. And at least 1/3 of the skills are either useless or made redundant by higher lvl skills. I didn't use my survivor's special move (sneak) once in the entire game. And when the divine skills were made available, what did it matter? My standard attack with my bow killed non-boss creatures with 3-6 arrows.
The first dungeon under Aleorth is a big mistake in size and difficulty, and I'm sure it put many beginning players off the game completely.
Still, I enjoyed the game, and just with the artwork alone its obvious alot of hard work has been put into the game. The humor was good in a few places as well. I hope they do make a sequel.
