Seen it on the weekend.... it was a bang allright... I could only get this front row seat that night... and man my neck was sore... nevertheless ... a lot better than the first one...
I wish they go into more details but yet i still need to spend like almost one hour after the movie to explain few stuff to my friends (they're not very familiar with the comic)... but anyway, they have 2 choices really to go into more details to satisfy the comic fans or to attract new ppl... they made their choice.
Nightcrawler was superb Still no Gambit....

Nightcrawler was superb Still no Gambit.... that first scene with nightcrawler was possibly one of the coolest fight scenes i have ever seen. i had to explain quite a bit to my boyfriend- who hadn't even seen the first movie, let alone know much about the characters! gambit has always been one of my favorites, too. i did notice though- when mystique was looking through the computer files of mutants, the one name i caught was remy lebeau. so maybe next movie, we will have a gambit. maybe they're too afraid to screw him up, since he's probably one of the most popular x-men. they just better get the accent and the attitude right, or i'll be pissed. and he better be cute, too. what did you think of colossus' cameo?

hey... colossus never been my fav character... but he still rocks in X2... did u check how he transform into steel... man... in the comics they never show how exactly colossus transform ... but wathcing that just gave me the goosebumps... (mean its good... not the scary goosebumps)
yea... i catch Remy LeBeau.... Jamie Madrox was there too... there're lots of those small details that they put... might be meaningless if you're not familiar with the comics ....

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVEEEEDDDD the movie, definetely one of the best I've ever seen
nice special FX and the story was good to. Loved Wolverine and Jean.
Say, is anyone suspecting an X3, because I am and a friend (who knows more about the X-men story) says that an important part is about to be told.... if X3 is gonna be produced. I sure as hell can't wait

the one other thing that bugs me about the movie is that they gave rogue jubilee's deal with wolverine. know what i mean? it was always jubilee that was wolverine's little buddy, not rogue. then when gambit comes, i bet he and rogue won't fall in love because she's dating iceman, and she's like, 16. gambit will have to be an adult. if he's not, i'll shoot somebody. and i think gambit may be in the third (which there definitely will be a third, viper. they set it up perfectly for the next), because everybody wants him in the movies. i don't think he'd be that hard to do, his power is easily animated. if they can do cyclops, the can do gambit. his eyes might be hard though.
i heard the director only watched the cartoon before making the first one. for this one he actually read some comics. maybe thats why the first one sucked.
who wants to bet that soon there will be a wolverine movie?

Why is everyone bagging the first movie? I thought it was great.
X-2 is even better though. I went and saw it opening night (Whee). Im about to go see it again in about 20 minutes, gold class this time, so I get a big comfy chair and free popcorn and drinks (Yay).
Im a little prejudice with the movies because I love Wolverine, read Wolverine comics but not much X-Men. Besides Hugh Jackman does such a good job (And he's an Aussie ).
How cool was Magneto's escape from prison? ("Bad Gandalf, BAD Gandalf *Wags finger*").
I cant wait to see X-3...............a friend says he wants me to read something called Dark Pheonix first so maybe I will.
Anyway, great film and Im looking forward to seeing it again (Actually I having problems sitting still while I wait for my ride) Wheeee *Bounces off the walls*

I agree the first was very good and was necessary to explain the second. The only reason I say gambit wont come until Wolverine gets his stuff worked out is because Wolv is a darkhorse char...like faile said mysterious...Gambit is also that kind of character...a hard ass...a problem with people....and sorry faile but I dont think theyll bring in Jubilee...not unless they get to X12 or so....just isnt enough time for them to bring in all the characters

Even the way it is they havent really fully fleshed out some of the characters as well as they could have. They probably dont want to add to many more to the mix. I hope Gambit will be in 3. I think with Jubilee they just kind of mixed her and Rogue together (Rogues power, jubilee's attitude) as one character.

viper- there's probably some good graphic novels.... i don't think theres any books, though. at least i haven't seen any.
mandrake- definitely read dark phoenix, but you should get all the background on normal phoenix too. i think hugh does a great job too. and i liked the first one, but i didn't think it was anything too great. and x2 blew the first off the map.
nero- i think you're right about jubilee. i'd be happy if they just showed jubeilee using her power. yay, fireworks!

and *possible spoiler*
but you all know who Jean becomes when... well...
i'll leave it at that, as to not spoil for those who haven't seen the movie. but what a great movie it was, for sure. and X3 is definately on it's way. to be honest, i think as long as people continue to watch those movies, they'll continue to make them. ya never know, we might even get to see a Jubilee even if it is in an X12 movie lol, just keep going and they'll keep making them, i think...
i hope

very true, but as long as they dont get too repetitive...
they could always change the focal point of the movies...
as for now it seems to be mainly wolverine, but as everyone seems to love Gambit so much, they could change the focus on him, or even on Cyclops for the next movie (though i think Cyclops is an overall poor character in the movies, thus far) seeing as how X2's closing shot were... well... again... no spoilers

I saw the movie yesterday. Was totally blown away. The first one was good, but I was afraid the series might progress down the same path the Batman and Superman movie series did and get too weird. Now my fears have been removed and I want an X3.
Let me start by saying I am a huge, huge, X-Men fan and have been reading and collecting their comics for 10 years or so. I have all of the comics in the Uncanny X-Men series from about issue 97 on. And Issue 100 was the transition to Phoenix. They changed that around in later issues, though, explaining her transformation somewhat differently. I have the tradepaper back of the Dark Phoenix Saga so I can reread it and not have to get the comics themselves out. That, and the Days of Future Past sage that followed, are some of my favorite storylines. The classic Chris Claremont/ John Byrne days at Marvel. And to those who said they "Saw something in the water at the end." that was a reflection of something above the water. I also wish Shadowcat and Jubliee had had speaking parts as well. Jubliee is known for her being Logan's friend, but Kitty Pride was as well. When they showed those tunnels it made me think of the Morlocks and wonder of those would be shown. So many mutants, so little time. I was glad Storm had more of a part in this one and showed more of her power. I adore Nightcrawler and he was perfect. The showing of Hank McCoy on TV was a cute addition, too. Someone mentioned Alpha Flight? My goodness, not many people remember them now. I think you meant Snowbird. Gambit would be nice, but so would Angel, Psylocke( how cool would her psychic knife look if they used the older version of her? ), and many others. Too many mutants, not enough time again. The kid with the tongue is Artie. He was never shown much but was mentioned a few times in the comics based around Jubliee and her days in Emma Frost's school(silly defective memory won't recall the name of that comic title since there are so many and they all have changed titles.). Although Artie was depicted as having luminious eyes and green skin, as I recall, from the comics.
I could have been very happy not knowing that.

What I was wanting to know is why he was with the X-Men in the first place, actually. Pyro was one of the founding members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. An organization started by Magneto and then taken over by Mystique later on. I am guessing that this is their way of introducing him and showing how he ended up being on the evil side.

yeah, i was curious about pyro being good too. now they need avalanche. i like the newer psylocke better than the old- the butterfly thing always bugged me. plus, she kicks ass as a ninja. morlocks would be very cool, and another good way to get storm into the story more, with a callisto conflict. i would also like to see mr. sinister, more of colossus, and illyana.

the comic I really like is 'Thorgal' anyone know it... but sorry, this is about X2

Anyway, I think putting Pyro in Xaviers school to start with was a nice touch. I mean the school is just there to teach kids how to control thier powers, it doesnt necessarily train you to be "good". Pyro was obviously dissatisfied with being unable to use his powers how he wanted and much prefered Magneto's "You are a god amongst insects" line.

are you sure that was only a reflection....??? It definetly had the feel of flying over water, and not viewing something under it, yes. Faile, I was thinking of the Psylocke before she had that Crimson stuff happen to her, but after she was a ninja. As Bestsy Braddock she was just another telepath. And did anyone remember that Pyro is actually supposed to be British ..?

My sister was sad that Beast wasnt included either, especially considering he built Cerebro that plays such a central part to the movie. Oh well. I still thought it was brilliant. Hehe, I told my sister it was a slow start. When she saw Nightcrawler going nuts she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. I just grinned back.

nah... you're just as smart as we think.
oplettend(heid) = attentiveness
perceptive = ontvangkelijk (iets snel aanvoelen/merken)

Yes... and you're doing the same as jvb. Niet opmerkzaam op die manier, Viper. Perceptive word meer gebruikt als je instinctief bedoeld. Niet het echt zien, horen, ruiken of voelen van iets. Meer het hebben van een idee, een gevoel,...

how can you know it was beast if he was not blue and furry?
anyway, i've played that game marvel's super hero's like streetfight but with wolverine, magneto, siperman, juggernaut, ironman. anyone knows it? What/who the hell is that purple octopus?
Have no fear, x-man 3 is a fact and will prolly be the story of magneto, pyro and his gang ...
I have I slight impression I repeated myself.
It's one of these days...

I just finished the Dark Pheonix saga in TPB. Ive never read much X-Men but I really enjoyed it. Perhaps Ill have to start collecting Marvels "Essential X-Men" from volume one
I will call you "Squishy", and you will be my squishy! OW! BAD SQUISHY!

i really enjoyed the movie, but i still think wolverine's fight scene with that girl could be a bit longer.

"Im a little prejudice with the movies because I love Wolverine, read Wolverine comics but not much X-Men." Same here. Wolverine was acted well but did not go indepth and I didn't like how they involved Wolverine's plot for in my opinion was done incorrectly. Before I stoped collecting and reading comics I had issues #73-#116 of Wolverine.
