What everyone else said basically. You are saying "if they can't let me make a character from scratch it isn't an rpg!", to put it simply.

So suggestions would be...any game that isn't based around an already established character, how you could buy something like the Witcher and still think that is beyond me as you would have instantly known that you were to play as Geralt and only Geralt (and Ciri at some points).

The world has plenty of amazing games, like the Witcher, but you just don't like the styles, so instead of saying anything that you don't like isn't an RPG how about go buy those RPGs and discover something you might actually enjoy.

Dragons Dogma. Dragon Age Origins/2/Inquisition, Morrowwind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Pillars of Eternity is excellent, there is plenty of options. It is also clear that you didn't give Dragons Dogma probably more than 15 minutes of your time, because there is locking and there is fast travel, you have to give a game time.
