there is a mistake here yes i do like the elder scroll series and the dark souls series but its not because of the action but because of the rpg elements

neither the soul series nor the elder scroll series are perfect rpgs but both of them are really good at role playing

for example in skyrim "do you wanna be a evil cultist that saps life from his victims in hopes of getting eternal life" ok then just go to the next enchanting table and enchant a dagger with absorb health, do you wanna be a master craftsman that makes his life by selling exceptional equipment?, level you alchemy, smiting and enchanting to a 100 you will be able to create items worth a entire merchants inventory, do you wanna a conjurer that forges pacts with dark being from a different plane? ok then level you conjuration skill to a 100 and you get a pair of dremora lords

dark souls does it on a more subtle way its give you the tools and lets your imagination go wild with the preexisting lore giving you few yet very meaningful choices that affect npc lives and the fate of the land itself which is what i mean by sense of greatness

its doesn't matter if the game is on first person or third person because it allows me to be whatever i want to be, granted its not like vampire the masquerade where you can solve the entire game while pretty much avoiding any sort of fighting and solving everything with money and mind control but its still a pretty good rpg

playing a inquisitive exploring character that like to interfere with literal everyone and everything he sees is not quite what i'm searching for, repeatable quests and respawing monster are essentially a substitute for the quests the game failed to create like experimenting on dead bodies to learn more about necromancy they are there so you aren't coerced into playing a different role

of course since this seems to be one of the main aspects of the series i don't expect it to change at best i can hope that game-master mode will allow me to create campaigns were i will be able to role-play as i want

there is just one thing i can absolutely not forgive and that is why in heavens did they make necromancy the way they did? i mean what part of raising the dead translates as mosquito swarms if anything its blood magic or maybe vampire magic but not necromancy
