North is up, we leave in the top right corner so the camp is in the bottom south left hand side.
West is the hand you wear your watch on. Unless you are left handed I guess.

I seem to recall the directions to be rather inconsistent which is why I commented. For whatever reason, I also understood the map to be at 45⁰ to the compass axes so I
think the camp is broadly in the south-west.
