For me, even when i fight against 1 mage in opponents party (when you get out from fort and battle 3 skeletons in that forrest) I get destroyed. And battle where Withermoore's Soul Jar quest is...is just impossible for me to do becouse there are 3 mages if I'm not mistaken.
Still I haven't tried playing with a mage so I'm not sure about it.
