So me and my friend decided to make a third playthrough of the early access, to see how the combat will be with the new AI.
And results are weird.
While the fights in Fort Joy seem to have the same difficulty or even feel easier - the fights against the skeletons outside are redicliously hard.
They are one level under our characters and seem to have:
Higher armor, higher damage, higher initiative, higher range, more AP, more skills, and already access to source points skill (and they don't seem to need source points to use them)
How every single enemy has more armor than the tank in our group while dishing out more damage than the rogue is beyond me.
It results in stunlocking our group in the first turn, they can easily obliterate our armor in 2 or 3 hits or they just use overpower, while we need twice as long to chip their armor away.
Sneaking into positon now seems worse than just running in the fight head on, since you can just do 1 attack and then will be pushed into next round.
When even the tanky enemies have more initiative than the Rogue there is no advantage to give up 2 AP for positioning when you can just teleport behind them for 1.
As it is now, the only viable party seems to be 4 tanks or maybe 3 tanks and a ranger, since it would be the only party that wouldn't be in CC hell after round one while providing enough CC and armor restoration themselves.
