Maybe it's just me, but my quick-cast bar quickly becomes a mess of items that I don't use very much, particularly on whichever character I use to do my looting. I know that you can manually remove things, but that ends up being a ton of maintenance. I'd really like a setting where nothing gets added to the bar unless I manually put it there. Skills/spells being added there is fine (because you usually add them intentionally with the plan to use them), but items on the bar are a pain.
