Lone wolf just makes it so you can't have a follower on that character.
That is wrong. That was the old lonewolf. The current lonewolf only checks if there are other characters created by players in the group. You get a hefty boost for your AP +2 max und +2 per round if you play alone and you could give it to all four members of your team.
