I think, like in Diablo 2 with W key, characters should be able to switch equipped weapons with a single stroke costing at most 1 AP or, better yet, nothing at all. For example I place bow into my main hands and dual-wield daggers into my secondary hands. This allows a lot more variety in character creation. Because archers are lacking now, mages can combine Aerotheurge, Geomancer, Hydrosophist, Necromancer and Pyrokinetic, all scaling from Intelligence. Scoundrel and Warfare can be combined. But Huntsman does not really have anyone to combine with because his main stat is only good for bows or he'd constantly need to switch weapons costing AP. What about spearbowman. Bow in main hands, two handed spear in secondary..

I'd definitely like a quick-swap secondary weapon slot. And even a tertiary, for that matter, as Divinity 2 had, although that's probably overkill.

I think DOS:EE was too much, but the option to have primary and secondary weapons would be much appreciated. Having a tertiary just leads to needlessly hoarding weapons, in my experience. laugh

Primary and secondary weapons you can switch between for 0/1 AP sounds like an okay idea, it would help with Ranger and Rogue builds.

It might also work for Inquisitors, if Draco 359's idea of the Inquisitor as a character whose purpose is to rapidly strip armor from enemies is right, allowing Inquisitors to carry a staff for magic armor and a physical weapon for physical armor.

If different weapons get different effects like Kalrakh's idea suggests, even warriors could switch weapons.

During combat, should be at least 2AP
People woudl keep switching 2 hand sword to shield and sword for instance
Plus it takes at least as long to swing your sword than to sheet 1-2 and take another 1-2 weapon
Also there would be the question of shield.....

Let say tou dont have a shield and then you draw one....does it gives you full shield
If you have some.shield and draw a shield
If you had a shield, draw another shield
If you had a shield, draw 2 hand weapon then draw that shield again....

We are not in a game where armor mitigates the damage, the armor is acting like the health bar....

0 AP is way too little, even 1 AP is too little. Maybe those could be Talents. "Weapon Master: switching weapons costs 0 AP". I totally agree with the convenience of switching between weapon sets, but reducing the AP cost is absurd.

I tend to hoard weapons anyway. Worst is the likes of TES where you can bind anything to one of the hotkeys so I end up lugging about all sorts of useless crap that I never use.

I did think Divinity 2's three ready weapons was a bit excessive, and only mentioned it from the point of view of there being some history; but two weapons at the ready would definitely be nice.

You missinterpreted my ideea. My original ideea is that the inquisitor shreds Magical Armor while wielding a staff...as things stand right now...a battlemage that manages to loot both a good staff and a good 2hander can in theory shred armor like chese (what you thought I suggested initialy)....at the cost of 1 quick bar slot to make weapon swaping easy.

Have a "fast change" secondary weapon would make the game easier, If I got a bow in all my characters..., but, obviously, is not a bad idea
