been thinking and playing a few hours.

come up with a new team preset.
1 You Custom 1 point Aerot + 1 point Necro then spread out skill points for low level skills.
2.Red Prince (choose polymorph as main) when level up go for warfare.
3.Ifan (go for rogue Thief) stealing more money early game is must for easy gameplay
4.Loshe (choose Summoning) then train her in healing this way you get something to do with a healer.

what's your pre party setup?

My first walkthrough had a balanced party. So lately I've been experimenting with a very unbalanced one for fun. I started with all ranger builds, but gave them all summoning instead of pyro. I mixed up the races to get some of the benefits, and tweaked the stats so specialize each a little. For instance, one focuses on thieving/sneaking, another has improved melee capes, etc.

It seems to work pretty well. I'm able to jump-in to a level 2 fight right away and win without too much trouble (everyone summoning minions). I'm not sure how it'll play out later in the game.

I'm interested in other concepts that folks are trying. I started using unbalanced builds in Pillars of Eternity and it's a lot of fun (though some of them are very OP).

No, sorry for the confusion. I've only done one walkthrough, and that had a mixed party.

I just started a new walkthrough with the ranger-centric party. I haven't got very far with it yet. But I do seem to be able to take on battles with monsters above the level of the party.

I use a rogue-necromancer (high dmg), knight-warfare (two handed weapon - high dmg), healer-summoning and a hunter, and in other game, changed the hunter for a warrior tank (shield)

This is from my most recent playthrough.
1)main is custom lizzard with chameleon skin, decaying touch, mosquito swarm, cleric starter items and civil points are spread between Stealing and Persuasion
2)the enchanter is Sebile who is equiped with a bow(I chose her over Loshe because Corpse Eater gives access to mostly support skills in the early game)
3)my current tank is Ifan with Polymorph and Scoundrel
4)my current damage dealer is Loshe, who I made a wizzard - I am thinking of changing for Red Prince as a Rogue so I can steal more stuff, but am put off by the lack of invizibility spells.

My best team in the 3 playthrough I did was :
- Ifan : Scoundrel (with some Polymorph and Warfare skills)
- Sebile : Ranger (with some Polymorph and Scoundrel skills)
- Lohse : Enchanter (with Polymorph, Warfare, Aero, Hydro) was main tank/support/cc maker
- Red Prince : Pyro/Geo had magic AoE damage (often killed Ifan btw)

High physical damage thanks to Ifan and Sebile, high magic AoE damage thanks to poison and fire.

Played with a friend, was a lot of fun.

Radeka was almost 1-shotted by sebille. We took the fight with the lone wolf seller (like 3 more lvl than us) and killed him for the fun. Well, it took 4-5 reloads to get the kill.
I need a new patch to redo another playthrough with other tries !
