Current talents are for the most part rather dull with a few standouts like Zombie that actually change playstyles. Talents should be more like Zombie, conditional game changes and not just +power gains (that's what items are for). Here are some suggestions -

Far Out Man
It's currently bugged but its fine when it worked. However its main purpose is to make the 2m spells 4m as the +2m on 15m+ doesn't really matter. Could split it into two talents one focused on the close range aspect, another on long.

  • BattleMage - Your Range for everything is 6m.
  • Far Out Man - +8m Range but +4m minimum Range.

Demon / Ice King
Should be more like Zombie and provide some Pro/Con that changes gameplay that is thematic. The current effects are dull.

  • Demon - Can't burn and Vision is no longer blocked by Smoke. Chilled effect does damage (like burning would).
  • Ice King - Heal while Frozen, can't slip on ice +movement on ice. Warm deals burning damage, burning deals piercing damage.
  • Avatar - Can't deal non elemental damage. Casting a skill reduces cooldowns of the next element by 1. Example Fire>Air>Earth>Water>Fire so casting a Fire skill reduces cooldowns of Air by 1.

Walk it Off
IMO should be changed so spending AP to move reduces positive/negative status effects, 1 turn off a random one per ap spent moving (not counting movement skills).

I definitely agree that there should be more Talents which change playstyles. Right now the selection is not great.

I think Far Out Man is fine as it is. Your suggestion for Battlemage is questionable because there are so few low-range spells that it would be more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

Your revised Far Out Man is okay, I guess, although I'd only approve the change if a bunch of other Mage-specific Talents were added. Right now the selection is so low that Far Out Man is one of only 3 Good Talents for mages. I would not like it if Larian changed Far Out Man to your idea WITHOUT adding in many more new mage-specific Talents.

Avatar is I guess okay, although I don't think it's reasonable to specialize in four elements, that's a lot of ability points. Having to cast spells in a specific element order would be pretty restrictive as well, and that's not much of a benefit in exchange.

Good suggestions, especially for Demon and Ice King.
