There is nothing preventing you from playing now with 2 characters. People have played through with a single character in all of the updates.
The game itself needs to be balanced before it makes sense to balance the One Man Army talent.
Any chance we can get a talent that works like Lone Wolf?
I really liked the option of fewer but stronger party members in DoS1.
It seems odd that such a fun and exciting talent was cut.
