Congrats for the GM mode being as revolutionary as we imagined - you'd put out of business paid premium software.

Only way it could be better? Actual modification of the ruleset, so that say, Dungeons and Dragons, could be recreated in terms of mechanics.

Hmm, that's something which should clearly answere the Devs, however shouldn't it be even possible to alter such Rulesets and so on via Editor? I mean as far as i understand, it is an powerfull tool, due the Devs use them, to develope their Game(DOS2) as well...

I have no idea - but many people asked about it.

To whatever extent the modding tool allows you to edit the ruleset, it should be available to create for a GM campaign. Pretty sure Swen confirmed that in the latest Twitch stream.

I believe it would be quite possible to get fairly true to DnD, but it would be a lot of work. I believe you could restructure (and rename) the attribute system like DnD, add a source point requirement to all spells to simulate limited spellslots, recreate various DnD spells in DOS, etc. There are some limitations of course, but even without the editor you could do a lot.

I think the GM mode supports the "Spirit of D&D" more than the minutiae of rules. Just being able to adjudicate real time changes to a pre-written adventure based on what a player rolled on the dice is the quintessential requirement, IMO.

I have been playing D&D in one form or another since 1981. I followed the kickstarter, but did not have the money to back it. When the GM mode press release hit, I notified a bunch of my old school crew and one of them bought me the early access as a gift.

We are looking forward to this fall; I have agreed to run a campaign for them. We currently use roll20 to play together, but that is for when they GM. I invested a couple of years in NWN and was very comfortable DMing with that. THIS, looks to be even more in alignment with my GM style.

Kudos to Larian for doing something amazing that blends and enhances the RPG experiences.

It is indeed revolutionary.
