This is a really simple mod that overrides one file, disabling the intro splash video.

The file is a short/blank bk2 video file. The common method of renaming a text file to override the video doesn't work in this case, as it causes a crash.

Honestly, this can barely be called a mod, but I figured someone out there might appreciate the time saved (especially if you're opening/closing DOS2 a lot to test things out).

Did you make this just for me? :P I mean, it's only a couple seconds difference, but it adds up when opening and closing the game several times in a row from little tests. Thanks!

Haha, yes! You're very welcome Baardvark.

I experienced a similar struggle when I was fiddling around with a personal mod, so I'm glad this is helpful to another person.

Hey a mod is mod! I did something similar for NWN2 when the Storm of Zehir came out, where I clipped about the first 5 seconds of the intro song that had a blaring trumpet because it drove me crazy when testing. laugh Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, and you're very welcome! grin

I usually end up removing splash/intro videos for games I know I'll be playing a lot. It's just one of those nice time savers, like skipping the same intro for a show you frequently watch (especially if that show has multiple seasons).

Some games take it to the extreme, with 3-5 different splash intros from the publisher, developer, engines/technology used. Doubly worse if it's unskippable.
