Wow this has been a long ordeal... I just bought the game with a friend in NYC im in FL and we connected great for 5min then i got booted and couldn't join for the next hour, that leads me here. Im guessing that should not happen if the patch that was meant to fix it was done on monday. I dont know why it worked in the first place but can i assume theres nothing i can do?

If your game has been updated you shouldn't be having the same problem. Were you getting an error code when trying to reconnect?

Did you try hosting?

Try playing at different times of the day. Basically, check off-peak hours for your ISPs, in case there are any issues with congestion or throttling, etc, on evenings or weekends.

Did you both double check your game / Xbox / router / modem settings?

Hi Raze,

Both me and my boyfriend have the latest updates, have open NAT settings, have checked our connections and modems but when we try to connect I get the 'Connection Failed' error with the code '0x0043'. Has the patch gone live in all countries? Is there anything else I can do to get this co-op play working?

I'll check what error 43 is; that should narrow down the problem, at least.

Error code 43 basically means Xbox Live failed to create a connection to the other user. Unfortunately, that doesn't give much to go on, since it is an error from Xbox Live ('eXLiveSocketErrorCode_AssociationCreateFailed').

Have you tried contacting Microsoft support?

This issue was fixed in the last update.

Did the host check their multiplayer settings, in the Game section of the options? When starting a new game, you specify single or multiplayer, so appropriate settings can be used; when loading a save, the settings in the options are used. The host can check / change that in the options before or after loading a save, or after loading a save, bring up the in-game menu (Start button) and select the Connection Menu.

Try starting a new game and see if you can connect. Don't move up the beach, though, or it will trigger an auto save which could overwrite a save from your current game (the number of quick and auto saves kept can be adjusted in the Game section of the options).

Try connecting in an old save, then if that works, load the latest save.

If the settings are correct, and there were no system or local network changes, it is possible your ISP(s) may be having issues (or throttling some traffic) during peak hours. Try connecting at at different times of the day, if possible.

Try swapping who is hosting. If it works in a new game, the problem would likely be on either or both ends of the connection.

Have either of you tried connecting with anyone else?
