Im sure this is propably already in game, but just issue with alpha version? I mean it cannot be so that u miss 90% of the story because other people are talking and advancing and u dont even see what they talked about with NPC's?

In case it somehow slipped the grasp of devs, we need a conversation to pop up when others start to talk, which we can then shut down if we are not intrested to NPC's chats, but this is just nonsense, completing the story without seeing any NPC related chat and story parts.

And just couple sentences in journal does not make up for whole missed conversations!

You can click the other person while they're talking to see what all is said ont heir end and the NPC's. It's so that the other person can CHOOSE not to be drawn into other conversations, notably so that if one person is trying to do the competitive coop thing and sneak some quests in, y'know... And also because sometimes you want to talk to an NPC on one player and your friend robs said NPC blind.

But yes, if PLAYER ONE is talking to TIMBILLJOETHENPC they will have an obvious little thing above both character's icons. If you click either character, PLAYER TWO can see the dialogue.

It still needs to be otherway around, popping up before u lost half the conversation or more. If u wanna rob u can disable as I said. This is very poor design, since this game is based on story it should be priority n.1 and robbing and efficent multiquesting etc should be lesser priority. If u do not understand this maybe true RPG games are not for u, but wow etc and arpgs, where story dont really matter.

Atleast make it optional.

You don't lose any of the conversation. Click themw hile the conversation is going on, and you cans croll all the way to the beginning of the conversation. Autopops do happen if you're going to be PART of the conversation, and are within range, but when not, you can instead choose to listen in.

I do not know how u can argue against it, it breaks immersion that u cant listen in live, but play catchup conversation student all game. Absolutely nobody would get hurt with the improved system I suggested, specially if u make it optional to pop up conversations. But if u wanna support lazy developement decisions, just leaving somehting like this because cant be arsed (since most of community is speedrunning efficent multiquesters?) =D.... then by all means, support it.

Also I dont get why this game isnt 8bit, would saved alot of develope time and it also works just fine, and dont really need animations either, just numbers popping with text on bottom descriping whats happening worked fine for long time too, lets just go full stone age since that used to work back in the day anyway for most players in rpg genre. Never mind, lets just make it all letters again while we are at it.

Why ever change something that was once a good system over decade ago. Players were happy back then.

Son, its called developement, we dont have to be stuck in lacking, immersion breaking system.

your suggestion isn't an improvement. IT's a hindrance. If it auto-forces you into conversations, how do you exit out without just getting forced in every new line? How do you make sure that you don't get auto forced in from across the map?

I've realized now however, on reading your post, that you're just a child and a troll. This has nothing to do with what USED to work, this is what DOES work. Especially with competitive questing being an option.

Also, don't be antagonistic calling me 'son'. Odds are I'm not only more mature than you, but older to boot.

Just my two cents, but I'd think it would be more immersion breaking if people were dragged into every convo the other player initiated.

On a side note, this thread reminds me of a thread that occurred while Sword Coast Legends was still a thing, where people complained that being dragged into every convo was immersion breaking. Each to their own I guess.
