There is actually already a mod which changes the textures. But it is only for the female elf and I will surely not use it if there will not also be a male version. Borky and soft skinned elves in one game together is too much.
Wether you like the design or not is personal bias. That Larian uses a picture of Sebille in the loading screen that is not consistent with the appearance in the game is a fact.
Personally, I'm a bit divided concerning the design of the elves. I like the a bit strange looking very thin tall bodies and also the funny "I'm a pot plant" clothing, but I don't like the borky appearance. I want my elves half-naked and with a skin so beautifully soft that anybody gets a heart attack seeing it.
