Clear mind will only make one person goes first unless you have everyone in your party with one point in Pyro just for that skill ?

And if you find all secret with that spell which isn't super long duration, you either have to stop walking to cast Clear mind all the time (Which I would find annoying and a waste of time) or most likely means you already know where all the secrets are so... Not everyone will play with a guide to point out all secrets.

I did 50% strength 50% Wits with my 2H Warrior and loved it. 34% crit chance, wasn't relying on enrage to crit and did pretty good damages.

Most arguments how terrible Wits is are based on the thought that you can prepare. Pull enemies, cast Clear Mind, knowing what is where. Of course I know any enemy in Act 1, where he is and what will happen. But the first fights were always the best, even with a loss (Radeka). And going first because of Wits was the best what could happen in an ambush. So I will keep my opinion that Wits is an important stat.

Those racials will however not influence my choice of companions. I like Lhose, Ifan (although his beard annoys me) and Sebille and they will be it whatever they have or have not.
