Strange thing.

All of a sudden I can't use my teleporter. I have one in my inventory, and the other in another place (where I've teleported to many times before). I click on the special skills tab, and I have no option at all with the teleporter.

I go to the other teleporter, and switch them out. Well, now I only have the option to drop the teleporter..

Is this a bug or is this how the game is supposed to be?

The only time they should stop working is if you enter the castle without one in your inventory. An imp shows up at that point and 'borrows' your teleporter stones if you have one or both with you. If not, either the imp shows up the next time you try to use one, or they stop working until the point he would have returned them (in the council hall).

If you drop both teleporter stones on the ground can you click on them to telelport back and forth? If they should be working, but are not, stick them in a chest and download (or transfer from a previous save) a new set of teleporter stones;

No, the Imp has already given me back the teleporters... A while ago.

One is left in the Council of Seven (where I can store my items in a nice, neat, organized pile) and the other always in my Inventory.

I'll try out the .zip file though.. It could halp.

Well, I tried something else. I tried using the teleporter on the ground.

This is what happened.

I had one teleporter on the other side of the room, and the other right there.

Apparently I'm not supposed to be able to use them..

What in the game could cause this?

I had the same thing happen to me when I was clearing out the first crypts. Suddenly they would not work and I got that message. I restored a saved game, checked that they were ok, and then proceeded to the same point in the crypt, and everything was ok.

Maybe there is some kind of new bug with the stones or something. They have been working fine since that point.

Well, what do ya know.. That's exactly what I was doing when it happened. Unfortunately that was so long ago before I tried using them again, that it would almost be pointless to go back to an earlier save game... Unless they really do come in handy in the future...

But don't I get some replacement pyramids in the future?

Well, I'm hanging on to my last known working teleporter save game.. Hopefully I wont have to go all the way back just to get working teleporters.

By the way, I tried the save game inventory hack... They still didn't work .

So are you saying you got the pyramids and did not ever use them from the first crypts until the imp gave them back to you (so you didn't notice they were broken)?

I use them all the time, especially before I get all the teleporters working, so I found out quickly that I had a problem. Well, hope you can find a solution that will fix your problem. I'm sure you don't want to go back to the beginning (although this is my second time through - was well through my first game and then got busy and decided to wait for the patch - then started up a new game). Just as fun the first time

Nope.

What I'm saying is that I forgot about the crypts when I first discovered them (don't know how..). I didn't even go back to them until I had to retrieve Mordaneus from his house for the Council of Seven. I couldn't get to his house, and the ladder was gone that went up to his hatch.. so I explored more and more (and found all kinds of little items that would have been very useful at the start of the game... I also got him back his sanity, which he appreciated much, I'm sure) and eventually looked on the internet for a solution.

Turned out there was a key in the house north of there the whole time. smirk

Anyway, I went through the whole crypts with only using it once (this is where my last save game is), and the next time I tried was about four hours of game time later.

And now, I'm easily 6 hours ahead of where that save is.. So I'm just going to keep on trekkin without them. Hopefully when the Ancient Pyramids come in to play, I'll have the ability again.

The ancient pyramids will work before becoming the divine one, if you want to try the inventory swap again. Maybe if the game treats them differently enough, they might bypass whatever the problem is with the teleporter stones. If not;

I thank you for all your help... But it's fixed now.

I don't know which did it..

Either 1: Getting the council Imp out of the Magical Place, or

2: Right clicking on inventory box right on the teleporter stone.

While in the magical place, the teleporters didn't work. Once I got out, I was looking at my inventory, and right clicked on the teleporter stone by accident (it closed the window) and I wanted to pickpocket someone so I chose skills.. And there it was. I could teleport again.

Go figure smirk
