Before I start, the reason I compare Warlord to Pawn is because if you pick one, you cant pick the other. That being said, warlord is insanely good and pawn kinda sucks in comparison.

The fact that you can keep chaining together kills with Warlord speaks to how good it is, especially when u consider how much ap you get back from the spell. Meanwhile pawn just saves you 1 ap specifically for moving. This is with the added fact that both melee classes have 2 good mobility spells with added benefits right from the beginning. How this is even remotely balanced is beyond me and I honestly hope they change these talents to make them more equal in viability.

mutual exclusivity does not mean that one is necessarily as powerful as the other. it just means that both combined would be OP

Imho "The Pawn" is more suited to ranged chars anyway. It happened sooo often that my Ranger could not hit an enemy because stuff was somehow in the way, that in D:OS2 that one point movement is a given for my ranger. As warlord is for my melee-damage chars.

Warlord is only useful when you get the last blow so it's mostly any characters dealing a lot of damage and preferably doing damage with auto attacks.
Pawn would be more useful as mentioned with characters that are less about damages and more about support, CC, or range to have a clear line of sight for free.

Plus unless you can oneshot anyone on the first turn, Warlord won't be triggered at the beginning of a fight.
It's great for clean up though.

Balancing a game isn't all about the numbers.
