Ok, that was done in D2, but as I remember with weapons only.

I am always thinking about this, when I am going to trade or to use lockpick.
Will it make sence if I could just press 1 and have my boots, helm, ring and belt with +1 in lockpick equipped and then press 2 to have items with + to trade skills equipped and then press 3 and have everything needed for combat equipped.
Or if I am ranger 1 for long range equipment and weapons, 2 for melee. Pls. note not just weapons.

So, my idea is to be able to assign sets of equipment to different buttons on my keyboard.

Pls. discuss.

Agreed. You should be able to hotkey equipment/skill configurations.

good idea, but it sounds like a lot of stuff to carry at once. im a mage and he's just not that strong.

I'd like it more for the skills. It's useful for swiching weapons and skills quickly (eg. Long-Bow + Ranger's Belt + Explosive Arrow Skill).

Hmm. Idea: when you first bring up any of the plates (equipment, inventory, etc.) the game should automatically pause. Then when you actually equip something it unpauses again. There have been many times when I had to pause, open up my inventory to do something, and then the game would unpause again. And I had to pause it again quickly in order to do something else (mostly in battles). I dunno, maybe some people would hate this idea, but I would like to see it as an option (maybe in config.ini or something).

I think they're trying to simulate that you don't have time to equip things mid combat, unless you're well prepared. This way, hot keyed items are things that are on your belt or back that you can grab quickly.

The whole reality concept is a setback but is the game a mixture or one or the other?

Theres a pause key in DD, you could put stuff on while paused....but yes I guess hotkeys would make it painless.

No pain - no game. :0p It adds the spice to the game, imho. Though I'd wish you could hotkey 1-9 (and 0) and not F1-F12

Thanks Raze, but I am done with DD for now.
I meant the developpers to do it in RR.
