I actually like that it's called witch as not many games use that particular title for a caster class anymore, probably for the same reason that you have issues with it. As long as Divinity witches don't wear a black dress, a steeple hat, and fly around on a broom then I think it'll be okay.
I rater have them called a sorcerer but witch do fine.
It's those small thing's what matter for example in SWTOR Females are called Lord, while milady would have been most appropriate title. Still videogames are limited by data so shared data is encouraged.
