Hi! Could you please advise on how shields and their active ability work? Let's say I have 200 armour and a shield provides me with other 200.
1) If I had a shield and lost half my armour (now 200), then removed the shield, will I have the same armour (200, loosing only 0 bonus from a "broken" shield) or it will be [current armour with shield - shield armour] (0) or [(max armour - shield armour)/2] (100)?
Removing your shield reduces the max armor of each type by the amount the shield provided. So if you remove your shield you won't lose any armor unless [Current Maximum Armor] - [Shield Armor] < [Current Armor]
2) If I had no shield and lost 3/4 of my armour (now 50), then equipped a shield, will I have [1/4 max armour without shield + full armour from shield] (250) or [1/4 of max armour with shield] (100)? Is there a point in changing a broken shield for a new one?
Same answer as above-ish. Applying a shield only affects the maximum armor of each type you can have. So equiping a shield does not increase your armor if you are in combat, but it will raise the max you can have at any given time.
The only reason to change shields during combat is to either change your maximum armor values, a different shield has better stats/resists, or you just want to burn AP and are a madman named Lugos.
3) If I used the shield's active skill and then removed the shield, will the new weapon skill be on cooldown? And vice versa. Also, does replacing a shield with another item costs 1 or 2 AP?
I assume you mean you have a shield equipped in combat, use Shield Up!, then equip either a 1h or 2h weapon. The weapon skill that replaces Shield Up! shares the same cooldown. I checked this last night while messing around with a shield based build.
The cost of replacing the shield will be determined by the item you are equipping, not by the type of item you are removing if that makes sense. In most cases it is 1AP though.
