1.: It's a bug mainly reserved for male warriors.
2.: Take the pool east of the trader's house (George). This one is deep enough to make the mirror vanish into the water.
3.: Personal taste. I'm a warrior now, too and want to go for lockpick 5. There are not many chests/doors etc that open without a key in Aleroth. This changes in the other areas.
