There actually are variations of daggers that look like rapiers. Example:


Most weapon skills will follow the attribute of your primary weapon. So if you use this rapier for instance, Crippling Blow, Battlestomp, etc. scale with Finesse.

For all I know, these different finesse weapons may drop more often later on in the game.
