On Original Sin i had my primary character based off the Battlemage start as I wanted to develop a melee fighter with decent defenses and have the hybrid use of magic for support. On the first game i based the magic around witchcraft/fire and a tiny bit of Geomancy. Mainly used Geomancy for having the Giant Spider and later a few other summons as "pet companions" and used the lifesteal from witchcraft and touch spell from pyro to supplement my damage when I was in combat. I wound up switching between a 2hander and dual blades.
My question is, since to my understanding with some of the changes to the skill lines, i suspect I've lost my trusty giant spider. Could I opt to use a similar idea with Necromancy, summoner and Pyromancy?

You can get spiders through skill crafting. There are different kinds of spiders now.

Wait what, skill crafting, and spiders there? Tell me more of this apparently new thing! Please lol.
One of the saddest parts of being excited for a game like this one, i will likely spend a stupid amount of time trying to figure out how to set up my character.
So if there are spiders that i can get that way, would i be able to use them alongside say the Summoner Incarnate w/a single character?

This should answer it better At the moment it seems like you can only have one summon at the time, excluding totems.

I will have to look into this skill crafting thing. Tho i think I will still try and go with Summoner in my battlemage skill set. The Incarnates seem like an interesting new type of summon to play with.

I saw something about that during some of the Kickstarter updates. Between Incarnates and the spiders I'll be good to go, i just need to figure out what setup to use at start for my build, and how to plan out my party w/the origin characters.
Slightly off topic, but how feasible do you think it would be to combine dual wands w/dual daggers?

Daggers need Finesse and Wands need Int. So dumbed down as attributes have gotten, if you skill both, you lose damage in the end, because those attributes don't give any secondary benefits now.

Ah, hmm, more things to relearn I suppose. Still very happy to know i can still get my spiders once i learn how to work the skill crafting aspect and how to get my spiders back.
I'll have to pay attention to how I plan out my battlemage type character and the other party members then a bit more carefully, which is fine as i love thinking up ways to develop my characters.

Was wondering, keeping to str based weapons then, would it be futile to try and start with 1, but eventually semi spec into a 2nd one for switching, like dual wield and then add 2h or vice versa? I'm trying to get a solid plan down before i spend any of my points lol

You don't put point into specific combat skills and but them into other skills instead. As long as you use Str-based weapons warfare will also support your damage.

So if i picked up a point in warfare to start, then i could juggle both a dual wield setup and 2hander until i decided if i wanted to put points into dual wield or 2h for their related bonuses.. how did i not think about that

@Kalrakh Since it seems like you've played around a bit more with Original Sin 2's mechanics and such, Was wondering if you could help me with something.
Since I've opted to avoid using Lone Wolf this time when i used it in the first game due to wanting to make sure of these new Origin characters I can plan out a wider party and pool of abilities. So I was wondering, do you think it'd be feasible to try and combine elements of Shadowblade and Inquisitor onto a single character(would be a human) as i was heavily leaning toward using one of them as a Shadowblade but am also intrigued by the class style of the Inquisitor and really wanted to see if theres a feasible way to work the 2 into a single character. They'd be in close range most of the time but the issue i see is the 2 class presets favor different attributes entirely for a means of damage output.

I guess, it depends, what exactly you want to try to combine about them. The game is classless, so you can combine as many skill trees as you wish, if you only need 1-3 specific skills out of a class.
