It's crazy how powerful the editor is, so much to learn. Love it.

My problem may be a mistake I'm making but it's proving to be quite the roadblock:

Whenever I try to override a skill in my new project, I get the following message: "[StatsEditor] can not create stat in (name of project) project, because stat fileName not found."

Is there something I'm forgetting to do to generate the appropriate stats file or am I misunderstanding the error message?

Thanks in advance.

Try doing it again after that first error. It seems that while you get that error the first time, it will also create the file at that point. Then when you do it again, it works because the file now exists.

Hey DroZzhat,

We'll be looking into fixing that soon.
In the meantime, Tinkerer's solution should do the trick.

I have not been able to create it, regardless of how many times I try. I'll try running the program as Administrator next time to see if it's an issue with creating the file. I had issues in general with adding/creating skills. If I just copy a skill into my own will it override, or is their a hidden numerical field that defines it's ID? (I was unable to see my changes to skills show up, or to change the one item combo I was trying to use.)

Unfortunately this is definitely not working. I wish I knew what the file it was trying to make was, I could make it manually, but in the meantime I guess I'll just have to wait on the fix. I had been hoping to override the broken corrosive touch skillbook combination to fix the typo making corrosive touch usable in game, though, from what I can tell, it only works on physical armor, doesn't do any more damage than other touch skills, has no side effects and has a 5 turn CD, so perhaps that's not a big deal.
