Yeah I just tried myself and got a crash. I'm going to leave the cave and try a save and reload back in town. See what happens then.

At this point I'm scared to play until they release a statement or patch. I do have a save from a few hours previous that doesn't crash when loaded within the game, BUT, who's to say it won't start doing it an hour (or 30 hours) down the road? I just don't want to invest time into the game when it could become unplayable at any minute. It's not fun constantly worrying about it, especially with the way I play (I quicksave often, in case a theft goes wrong, etc.). Not to mention I don't want to replay the same area over and over.

Exactly my thinking as well. I basically do what you said when stealing things. Quick Save then reload if I screw up and I quick save often when exploring and during fights. I've just decided to continue playing my game and when I need to reload I'm gonna try going to main menu first and then load the save and see how that goes.
This is really annoying and I wonder if I had stayed with the release build would I be getting this issue?
I really hope Larian can fix this ASAP. I'm off work till Tuesday and I really want to play this game.
