From my personal experience, my lizard pyromancer is a one-man wrecking crew. A heap of intelligence, a helping of memory, and a dash of constitution for a shield makes him impossible to break through as well. Elemental affinity lets him use his one-AP fire breath to make a fire surface, and "the pawn" allows him to then walk in it for free. Then other spells become one AP as well.

I'm certain I could find comparable builds in melee, but this one just jumped out to me immediately. I do approve of it.

Fire breath starts out one AP to begin with... smile

It still works pretty good though, you can do it with other 1 AP spells too. Pheonix dive for example.

Ah, I was unclear. You can start with no surfaces around, fire breath only costs 1 AP to create the surface you need, move onto it for free with "the pawn", then benefit from the discount.

yeah, thats quite nice trick smile

I especially like the idea of fiery tank, all magical damage, but with shield giving him great survivability->
Using phoenix dive to jump in the middle of fight, using supernova, ignition, fireball into impalement, fossil strike or contagion for mass aoe destruction sounds like shitton of fun... Probably best with red prince++elemental affinity+demon talent smile Quite possibly very good with necromancy, giving you some physical damage when needed and sustaining your health should you take too much damage smile

Back to the question - lvl10, mages still wrecks everything while having great utility. Their single target damage of course cant compare to rogue/ranger, but their overall damage is through the roof... I do advise to have two mages tho, and both should have atleast 2-3 damage types, so you can avoid being useless against immune enemies laugh
