I posted a possible fix in this thread of mine if you haven't seen it yet:
http://larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=614713&I say 'possible' because you might've progressed far enough to not be able to use the fix I did. If that's the case, I think it works for any encounter wherein an NPC forcefully talks to you.
