I just finished Act 1 in DoS2 and I did encounter one instadeath where that crucified zombie on poll zaps you for 9999 if you get close.

But yeah, as the person above said, you were explicitely said "DON'T GO NEAR THEM !" and the whole quest is about finding weapons to depower them, so meh, no sympathy here.
(at most, I'll grant you that yeah, in all games it's always about "this is suicide !" to give the player the feeling he's badass and can take on unbelievable odds and come out on top, so said warnings are often pointless)
