I just wanted to start by saying great game. And hello all.

I am fairly new to DOS2 but have already noticed it seems to be harder to get money for skills equip compared to the first game. In dos1 I would use a rogue to sneak into homes, steal valuables and sell them. In this game stealing seems different. Harder. Even if I get something an npc comes along and searches me a minute later.

What does everyone else do for money? It seems a struggle in act 1.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I still used sneaking, you just have to game it a little bit:
Sneak behind NPC->pickpocket him->Immedietly open inventory, and toss your stolen items on the ground. Wait for him to check you, he wont find anything->pickup your skillbooks and learn them - or sell them to different trader smile

Ezy money, all the skills

A bit of a chore to do it that way in my opinion, especially if the NPC moves around. If you are not soloing: let one companion speak to the victim. Change to the Thievery companion, position behind the target, sneak and pickpocket with all the time you need. Slender/run away with the thief. Then change back to the speaker, end the talk, let your rest-party be searched, take the excuse with honor, move to the thief and use the stolen stuff. You can even sell it back to the victim.

You can steal only once per party member with Thievery and per NPC. So choose the stuff to steal wisely. Don't steal tier 1 skillbooks for example.
