They even give you random rich trader as you do quests sometime just to give you another source of gold for a quick reset-thievery so you really have no problem with gold in this game.
Ellezard at least talks about reset-thievery, which sounds like that.
That's why, I said, saying to win Tactician without exploit while using such an exploit counterdicts themselves.
Dunno what you mean axactly but reset thievery is a completly different thing. You buy things from a merchant and take it back. This works 4x times if every char has points into thievery, or only one time per merchant if you only have one thief.
That's all intended and allright. The issue is that this is certainly not enough to fully equip your chars with epic gear every few lvls when things cost 2-5k per item even with a 5 barter char and a maxed(100) merchant. Not to mention the skillbooks you need to buy.
And no we didn't used that bug even if we found it rather fast the moment we where able to respec/choose new chars. That's the reason I did create this topic.
Without using it tacticians is kinda dumb because your gear is kinda backwards all the time.
We play with 4 ppl and we can only keep 2 ppl(our ranger and melee) gearwise up to date if we play it the intended way. And even that needs stealing/looting everything. So it's more like 1 1/2 char which is up to date. ;>
You would need around 30-40k gold to upgrade the whole party every 2 lvl with proper gear from merchants.
You can play it with this bug and say it's a faceroll or play it the normal way and just *sigh* at some shield values enemies have later on.
