I don't get crafting. I'm not using it at all, and I think it's because of reasons like these:
- Why the hell can't I see the stats of the item I will craft? Why would I use mats to craft a weapon its not even telling me how it is? When we hover the cursor over the recipe, it needs to show us the item. I don't see why we would craft anything otherwise.
- Why are there so many useless recipes? It looks like larian checked the crafting of other games, mostly mmos, where there are tons of crappy recipes and just a few useful ones, and thought they would do the same. What they didn't realize is that those other games need those items to level up crafting. Thats not the case in divinity, so why do I have 30 recipes of white weapons??
- I decided to craft a few items to check out the results, since I can't see them like I said above. I saw I could do food called dinner. I craft it and see I get a 15% heal and +1 strength. That's cool. I now see that I can use that crafted item in another recipe to improve it by adding a drink, crafting a dwarf food. I do so and see that the resulting item gives me.... 10% heal and +1 strength.
So wait, I finally decide to explore crafting even not seeing what the resulting items will be, and the first thing I find out is that by improving an item I crafted using it in another recipe... it looses a 5% heal and adds nothing. So it became worse... wtf
I really just don't get crafting in this game...
