There are other quests you can take that has no side effect.
One, you can save an elf and she will connect you to the elf mother tree giving you source.
Another, you can fight a demon or accept its offer to do a question for you.
Just those 2 are already enough. There's also the cemetary one that is about necromancy and people you will be fighting anyway.
Another one is killing a boss in a ruined part of the map and you will get a source point along with another quests.
