Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 - The Modding Dungeon Divinity - Original Sin 2 - Modding Troubleshooting Divinity Engine failing to load

So I was getting the same error and i decided to go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2 and remove the Divinity Original Sin 2 folder from Read only and that seemed to do the trick. Hope that helps!
