What kind of mod is it? Add on or adventure?
I don't think it's possible to run character creation in the editor under any circumstances. Usually it runs the creation on background and randomly picks one of the classes to assign to the first player. I've always suspected that's hardcoded to allow you to test without rewriting the script everytime you wanted to use the editor or use the game.
