We finally got rid of durability, we don't want it back.
Yeah, it was unpopular and annoying. Removing it was definitely the right sort of streamlining as it was just effort for its own sake.
And as much as I'm not actually a fan of turn-based games, I'm not keen on the timer idea which seems to bring the worst elements of real-time and turn-based together.
Where weights are concerned, I prefer to think of them as "arbitrary units of encumbrance" and wouldn't get too hung up on the numbers: otherwise everything else is also going to need to be factored downwards so it's more realistic and the amounts will probably stay the same, just with different numbers.
I actually like things that add to the game but I'm not keen on unnecessary grinding. I'm not trying to be overly negative; for example, for me personally I like "added realism" things such as making eating, drinking and sleeping a necessity but other gamers are less keen that sort of thing so I don't think it should really be added except as an option or a mod. I think it's better to concentrate on something that actually adds something like crafting, building up one's skills and so on rather than something that takes away, such as equipment deterioration.
