Glasses has stopped working. Still affected by this. Tried steps outlined on these and Steam message boards. Been trying to get this to work for days now. Please advise.
I had early access, downloaded from steam Tools. When starting, it prompts you to fill in which game data path to use. I have pointed it at 8 different destinations. I have tried it with Projects and Adventures. I cannot get the engine to load. It always generates the error: "glasses"
I tried replying in other threads. Time to try a new post.

Hi Azmo,
Do you have the "Divinity Engine Data" DLC downloaded? You are probably missing some files. Also, the game data path should be set to the "steamapps/common/Divinity Original Sin 2/Data/" folder.
Do you see any warnings or errors in the message log before the editor crashes?

I have the Engine Data DLC downloaded. The only message it gives when crashing is "glasses". It shows the toolkit, but never fully loads it, freezes and then gives that error message.

Do you see any warnings or errors in the message log before the editor crashes? I am going to try all of these steps again. It is possible in all the troubleshooting that I have done over the past 72 hours that something was mangled. I will update this thread after an uninstall/re-install.

It seems to be working. It crashed once, but after the uninstall and reinstall it is working.

I take it back. It loads the engine, but then reports errors about not finding all the resources and having critical errors and crashes when I try and load levels.
When it is running, the level is blank, even the Basic one. There is no terrain being rendered.
Let me know if anything else can be tried.

When I create a new level by COPY any interior level of the GM levels " Glasses" will stop working and Editor crashes. Outdoor areas seem to work fine though ?? Any idea someone?

Just wanted to add that I am also having the "Glasses Error", despite multiple totally fresh reinstalls of the Engine, DLC, and re-checking the filepath. I can select the name and project type, the editor opens to a flat blue render window, and then shortly afterwards it freezes and I get the error popup.

Signed up to add this same issue. Downloaded dlc engine data, start divinity engine 2, set file path ./steamapps/common/Divinity Original Sin 2/Data, create new project, then given the freeze with Glasses has stopped working. https://imgur.com/eKiMP45 looks like file data is missing even though I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times. I also verified the integrity of the data files through steam. I am at a loss for what else to do.

Turns out deleting the "Materials.pak" file then re-verifying the integrity of the game files worked for me. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks so much greel70 for the tip; I was freezing even earlier in the program (never got those error messages in the log), but deleting the Materials.pak and re-downloading through Verify Local Files managed to fix the problem!

greel70's tip did not help me out, I still get the Glasses -error window into a crash.
Here's my screenshot of the moment. https://i.imgur.com/6D0ys3X.jpg
I've tried.... # uninstalling and re-installing the engine # greel70's tip of removing materials.pak and then redownloading through verifying local files. # and assigned the path to "steamapps/common/Divinity Original Sin 2/Data/" folder.
Hope this gets fixed, I wanna create a scenes of my own.

For my own tried fixes above, currents efforts are:
I've tried.... # uninstalling and re-installing the engine # greel70's tip of removing materials.pak and then redownloading through verifying local files. # and assigned the path to "steamapps/common/Divinity Original Sin 2/Data/" folder. # tried running the editor without Steam overlay # tried to run the editor as an admin

Try chaning the folder of Divinity original sins 2 to read and write. Could be just a permissions issue. Seems to have worked for me

I'm having the same issue where it won't load base.lsb, and there is apparently an issue with windows ten where users can't change the folders from read only to read and write.
I've tried, downloading a program that adds a new registry to take ownership creating a new user with full permissions to edit folders creating a copy of the game data folder copying the contents of the folder into another new folder running the tool in admin mode

here is the portion of the error I can see, at this point the program has crashed because of the failure to load. I can only assume this is because the program is unable to create these files since the files are not present in the divinity public folder.

The game path should lead to a drive letter;
I moved my steamapps a long time ago to my "Games" folder, so mine is not going to be yours, unless you did this too. But mine works and my path reads as such,
"C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\Data"
Also, when you try to run it in steam, run steam as administrator mode first.
