Hi, i'm new to the forums and have some questions about GM Mode.
1st its a great tool i want to work/ play with and i just started to build a campaing.
I mastered a AD&D Campaign back in the days and a Rolemaster Campaign for several years, but thats some time ago, 15 or even 20 years, but i still have my books and all :P

Are we supposd to get larger Scenes/ 3D Levels?
(btw in german they are translated as "Stufe" in the Contextmenu. Should be "Szene" as in the Overview in the right panel)

What about triggers for Vignettes?

How do Levers work, i havent found out yet how to make a trap for example or is this supposed to be moderatet/ gamemastered?
So klicking on these levers do nothing or is there something what i can attach to it?

I once created a more or less sandbox world with Pen and Paper, but it seems we are somewhat limited to tell more of a linear story.
Don't get me wrong, i'm fine with that, but i am right or do i just miss something whats possible.

Is there something like a map editor planned, both for 2d overworld map and/ or 3d Levels.

Are there any plans to sell or release content packs for GM Mode with new levels, grafics etc...???

thanks for answers

have fun - Stun :opa:

p.s.: i play the main game with a friend in coop and we have a lot of fun and enjoy every aspect of the game - very good work, very, very cool. If thins like this had happened in the late 80ies to 90ies i would have lost my childhood :D

As far as I know, vignettes are just a votation system with no impact whatsoever in the game, they are meant for roleplaying purposes only and the GM has to publish and control them. But I might be wrong.

The system is oriented to a linear campaigns i think, but yeah, the overall feeling for me is "this could do much more with some changes from the devs" too.

You can draw, paint or make your maps in any programs that can edit images, there are some programs specifically made for making maps for roleplaying. 3d levels are donde through the editor and that's it

I hope not. If we have to pay extra for the GM to be more complete i would feel dissapointed.

Thank a lot @Noctro,

a few more questions, but then i think i got it :)

Ok i understand that GM Mode is a tool for Pen and Paper (very cool) and not an editor to script things, it's more to do things on the fly, prepare something you can use, but have to actively do as a Dungeon Master and lead your party, moderate their actions and act as the world.
I'm familiar with that, the more i do with the GM Mode, the more i understand what i can and should do do start a session.
I recently figured out, that you can add more scenes than Pins, Pins just are Travelspots.
I now managed my first Campaing this way:
choosed a Map, set some Pins with Levels, created folders for each Pin with multiple Vignettes and Scenes in that folder.
So if the group arrives at Village X, there is the starting Scene and Vignette i use to ntroduce the scene, but i have several areas/ scenes in the vignettes and scenes folder of Village X to play with. For example the Tavern as an indoor level, the cellar of that Tavern or the Graveyard at the Villages Border etc... and these Scenes aren't pinned to the overworld, but are available from storytelling or even Vignettes i prepared.
great thing so, many possibilitities and even making a quick encounter on the fly to react on players behavior is possible, if one becomes used to it and have for example some general NPC stored/ exported and some genereous Vignettes for random encounters prepared.
But it's still better to keep it linear, but thats totally ok for me.

So now what's important to me!
I found adittional scenes in the Workshop, some unofficially released scenes and Goblins and some Undeads as NPC's
Cool things, want more of that.
And i dowloaded a short "Adventure", what taes place in a Tomb after entering it from a graveyard.
So this is where it comes to scripted Adventures and playermade 3d levels if i'm right.
What is that Editor to create own 3d Levels, is that the tool to create scripted Adventures like the one i tried?
Where is this, how do i start this Editor for 3d Levels?

Additional scenes, NPCs and items can be made or pulled from the main campaign using The Divinity Engine 2, which is available from the tools section in your steam library Steam.

Its a lot more complicated than the DM mode; but hopefully in the coming weeks we'll get more tutorials about how to do stuff in it.

There are a few already up on the wiki. Make sure you start off with the Larian Setup guide if you take a look.
