the red prince's romance progression is virtually exactly the same regardless of decisions made. even if sadha is dead, in the final part on the lady vengeance he doesn't even acknowledge you in that way, and you basically just tip your hat to him and send him home. the red prince actually doesn't respond to sadha's death at all, which is an awful tune change that makes no sense regarding his story; you can't even address it afterwards in a conversation with him, it just never shows up. did the devs forget to put this part in the game or something? why give us the option to kill sadha if it just dead-ends the quest? seems like romance really was a complete afterthought in this game, which while unsurprising is still very disappointing. on the topic of romance, being nice to sebille seems to be synonymous with starting a romance with her (whether this is a bug or not is unclear), since even if you don't sleep with her she recalls the "night you made love" after the final fight, which was very jarring and immersion-breaking. it's seemingly impossible to just be friends with her and she attempts to make out with you every other conversation once you've hit a certain attitude. don't think i'll be taking her with me in future playthroughs if i don't specifically intend on romancing her. at least lohse isn't throwing herself at you despite making no explicit signs of romantic interest
aside from the specifics though, the entire endgame is pretty deflating and an overall letdown. you have this epic fight against these revered characters you've been either chasing or hearing through whispers all game and then you end up back on the boat with one vacuous conversation with each companion you've had with you this whole time and that's it. i thought the game did story telling and companionship pretty well up until the end, so i was actually kind of irritated to find this measly payoff. i know the end of the game was rushed, it's written all over arx, but surely it wouldn't have taken much to add something of substance at the culmination of what was a really well done journey. really hope there's some form of expansion that continues this story, because the ending is very unsatisfying, and this isn't even taking into account the epilogue slides which say almost exactly the same things regardless of the decisions made. for example, aside from the part about arx being destroyed by deathfog, your interactions with queen justinia (dwarf queen) don't yield any different epilogue slides from the ones you get if you never spoke to her at all. i'd even take a mod for this
