There's an elevated platform next to the bridge where the ferryman is standing. The platform is clear of Deathfog. Teleport to that platform somehow, give one pyramid to another party member, unchain, and then teleport your unchained hero who should also have a pyramid to the shore of the island. Switch to your chained party and activate the appropriate pyramid. Voila!
