I noticed in one of the stat fields under the skills it listed Kinetic along with fire, air, etc. What is this and where is it used?

It's a guess on my part, but it does look like damage type (or resistance) based on fire, air etc. Kinetic would be just a different name for "physical" in this case. But like I said - take my statement with a dose of doubt.
