Maybe I forgot to mention that I was not interested in modding the core game's dialogs, I was merely interested in looking at them to see how they are structured, mainly to find out how you make NPC's join your party on a dialog end, how to make them hostile on a dialog end and how to have them initiate a dialog on sighting the PC.

By following the path on the wiki I ended up in the dialog folder, where there are no visible dialog files (*.lsj). But by going the other route, when I came to the dialog folder there was plenty of dialog sub-folders with openable dialogs.

Anyway I'll think it's best to wait for the editor patch before continuing to mess around with dialogs.
