I can't say there's anything wrong with the working idea of rebalancing summoner to have more summons, but surely it would have to make for a bunch of super nerfed summons? Playing a game with a friend where he has a purist summoner. We're still in the Fort Joy area but between an incarnate and 3 totems his damage output is frankly ridiculous. To make it better the AI seems to enjoy smacking the summons just as much as anything else; in fact preferring them to characters out of immediate movement range.

I'm not saying I don't like your idea, because we all love our blobby summon friends, I'm just saying so far the only reason I see to not pure class a summoner is because you eventually cap out the summoner points.
